Introduction & History


The Articles of Incorporation of Faith Community Foundation filed with the Iowa Secretary of State on September 27, 2005, gave birth to a new public community foundation. On October 12, 2005, the Internal Revenue Service issued a taxpayer identification number to Faith Community Foundation securing its national identity. The January 18, 2006, Faith Community Foundation Board of Directors meeting at the Ankeny Chamber of Commerce to elect the initial board of directors and organize its activities culminated the work of a committee formed on Monday evening, January 17, 2005. The purpose of that Monday evening meeting was to develop a proposal for the initiation of a Faith Foundation, an independent faith-based public community foundation, an idea that had been gestating for nearly four years. One-year later evidence of God’s working in answered prayer was clear.
